The approach to productive sector and the intensification of exchange of experiences, building with the ESDI position as a reference in design, arises the Design Companies Incubator in March 2007 by the Executive Act of the Rectory of UERJ.

Academically linked to ESDI, the Incubator occupied initially an area of 25m ^ 2, and is now in a physical space that can accommodate the installation of three enterprises, in 54m ^ 2.

The story of the creation of incubator brings a curious fact. Even before its formalized and functioning, during its implementation process, the Incubator “preincubated” two different projects – which today are success stories in the field of design: Habto and Fibra. Both have highlighted with numerous awards and citations in different media.
