The Technological Incubator of Popular Cooperatives – ITCP is an university extension activity of the Graduate Coordination and Research of Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – COPPE / UFRJ, focusing on strengthening the cooperative. Aims to introduce the formal system of the economy, marginalized sectors both socially and economically.

There are four main areas of action: Incubator of  Cooperatives, Public Policy, Observatory Cooperatives, Labor and Citizenship and Cooperative Education. IncubCOOPE is the methodology developed by the ITCP / COPPE to meet this challenge, seeking to match the different demands of the individual and the group, and considering the need to invest in skills in new professions, the IncubCOOPE methodology. In this line, as well as support and encouragement to increase the level of education for the collective and self-managed work, introduces for the basic training of cooperative two educational contributions: citizenship and computer.
